Discover the latest original creation by Thomas Caruso Aragona.
A play that is as funny as it is modern, performed by four actors who, in a true theatrical feat, bring 18 characters to life to tell interwoven stories.
It’s the story of a man who writes a play for his wife, so she’ll never forget how much he loves her. Or perhaps, it’s the opposite.
It’s the tale of a boundless love that defies time and life itself, a journey to the very end of everything.
It’s also the story of a dreamy, poetic boy, hopelessly in love with a girl whose name is that of a flower.
A performance that dares to answer a question few would dare ask: What if love were, in the end, the last link that truly connects us to life?
March 27, 2025: Stop Crying, Penelope
So… Let the show begin!
Inspiring encounter with the artist Sandrine Orisio
To mark the occasion, we met Méribel-born Sandrine Orisio, a mountain dweller at heart and a painter for over 20 years. She passionately shares her artistic journey and the profound influence of the environment on her art. It’s a story that transcends her canvases, revealing the very evolution of her identity over the years.
Memories of a mountain childhood
A sunny, cheerful personality, Sandrine stands facing the majestic summit of La Saulire, revealing the profound influence of her childhood in the mountains on her artistic work.
Sandrine: I’ve been a painter for over 20 years. I didn’t study specifically to become a painter, but I’ve never given up despite the hazards inherent in the profession. It’s more a question of taste and life circumstances. An unwavering desire that has developed over time.
How would you describe your connection with the mountains?
Sandrine: I grew up in the mountains, in Méribel. The valley is very important to me. It’s a family haven, with a history, traditions and values that are close to my heart. The mountains aren’t just about skiing, they’re about nature, the birds that fly over the peaks… There’s something about freedom. We’re kings of the world when we’re on top of the mountain!
And Méribel?
Sandrine: Welcome, warmth and nature. A warm and friendly atmosphere with its architecture and family image. There’s also the skiing and the mountain setting: exceptional sites here like the Tueda nature reserve, hiking in the Vanoise park between lakes, glaciers and mountain pastures.
When nature inspires art :
Ever since she was a child, Sandrine Orisio has been fascinated by mountain flowers, animals found in the forest and other wonders that surround us. Representing the environment, which is at the heart of her art, is an expressive way of conveying messages that are both ecological and humanist.
How does nature influence your artistic expression?
Sandrine : I paint trees, animals… to show that this is what is important. The things that surround us are my testimony. In my paintings, I work a lot on all the elements of nature which, in my opinion, have retained a pure aspect. On the other hand, I don’t paint people. I depict man as a stick figure because I feel that our understanding of the earth has not evolved. We are both creators and destroyers of what surrounds us.
Ecology is clearly important to you, it’s a message you want to convey in your work. But are there others?
Sandrine : Yes, humanist messages. Paying attention to the environment and loving everything around us, without making distinctions. And most importantly, we mustn’t forget where we come from. Comfort and modernity run the risk of making us lose our deepest essence, which is Mother Earth. It may sound a little naive to talk about it like that, but for me it’s the crux, the core of all life.
Travelling as a source of inspiration :
The artist has also travelled extensively. Each of her expeditions has helped to shape her personal development, as well as that of her art.
You have mentioned some of the things that inspire you: nature, your inner balance, your travels… what other sources of inspiration are reflected in your art?
Sandrine : I’ve travelled a lot in my life, and I’m also a sort of shaman. I have my outer journeys, to the other side of the planet, and my inner journeys that nourish my painting through colours that are rich in visions. Everything is possible! I can create without logic, mixing styles without any barriers. I give myself total freedom. Above all, each colour has a vibration. They nourish the creator and the viewer, who will feel an emotion. For me that’s the whole point of painting: to make people feel something.
What journeys have left a lasting impression on you??
Sandrine : The first major trip I made was to China, and for a long time it was a source of inspiration in the overall vision of my life as an artist. Then there was a recurring trip to Patagonia in Argentina. Over there, I learnt to look more closely, because there is very little vegetation due to the semi-arid climate. So as soon as there’s a plant or a tree, it takes on greater proportions. This has led me to explore our surroundings in greater depth. More recently, Mexico! That’s where I found my colours: red, yellow…
Find ones own mountain
Sandrine : Adults and children alike will be inspired by the artist to “create their own mountain”. This means that people, with their own unique sensibilities, make the place their own, expressing what the mountains mean to them?
Do you have a story to tell us about this project?
Sandrine : At my first exhibition at the Méribel Tourist Office, I presented my first paintings, including a particularly dark and morbid one depicting a monstrous woman with two heads. A woman, moved to tears when she saw it, sat down in front of it. When I told her I was the artist, she hugged me and cried, asking me what had possessed me to create such a work. I explained that it was a way for me to express the darker side of myself that I wanted to get out. She confided in me that she had been through horrible experiences, and it was then that I realised the powerful impact my paintings could have on people’s emotions, both positive and sad. This episode left an indelible mark on my artistic perception.
Has this experience led you to paint more positive, colourful things?
Sandrine : No, it’s the fact that the older I get, the happier and more colourful I become. Often the creator paints who he is. The palette is the artist. It’s all me. You can see the difference as my paintings evolve. Today, I’m very happy to be able to present my artistic evolution. I’ve come full circle!
Any last thoughts to share with us?
Sandrine : As it’s a place that’s going to start holding exhibitions again, I hope there’ll be more! Not necessarily with me, but the fact that the Méribel Tourist Office is continuing to reach out to artists is a plus for the resort. For which, I’d like to thank the Tourist Office, it’s amazing. It has really touched me and I’m very grateful.
Explore Sandrine’s artistic world further by taking part in “Sandrine’s Workshops” from Monday to Friday, 3.30pm to 6.30pm, in the auditorium hall.

In a nutshell: we look forward to welcoming you to Méribel this summer!
Winter may be over, but its memories remain engraved in our minds.
We laughed, sang, danced and enjoyed every moment of this winter season in Méribel. Together, we experienced moments of happiness, excitement, sharing and profound emotions.
So join us in reliving the best moments of a magical winter in Méribel.
The resort opening: 7 December
We had been waiting for you…. ❄
The anticipation was palpable, and we couldn’t wait to welcome you back for a winter season full of surprises.
On 7 December, Méribel finally opened its doors, offering skiers and winter sports enthusiasts an unforgettable first day.
To celebrate the start of the season, we prepared a day of sport and gourmet delights: free breakfast, a Savoyard aperitif and even a chef working on a summit. The day ended in style with a sound and light show, accompanied by DJ sets 🪩.
Christmas holidays in the mountains
Fairy-tale moments ✨
Who hasn’t dreamt of spending the festive season in the snow, surrounded by your loved ones?
The streets lit by Christmas decorations, the sociable strolls around the resort and the reuniting of family and friends all created an atmosphere of magic and conviviality that enchanted young and old alike.
But the highlight of the festivities was undoubtedly the arrival of the New Year, with a smoking-hot show by La Folie Douce. An open-air disco, enlivened by the energetic Sandy Sax on the saxophone and the dancers, kept us dancing until the end of the night.
It was a night of joy and good humour! 🎷
One of the most beautiful days of the season: 28 January
An indescribable feeling of freedom ☀️
On 28 January, Méribel displayed its finest coat of white, offering skiers the conditions they’d been dreaming of.
An azure blue sky, brilliant sunshine and fresh snow as far as the eye could see – conditions to thrill the heart of every skier.
That day, skiers and riders rediscovered the unique feeling of freedom that powder snow brings, an indescribable emotion that we can now relive together.
Jazz Variations Festival: 2 to 23 January
When music enhances the summits 🎷
The Jazz Variations Festival was also one of the highlights of the winter season in Méribel. This second edition was a real success, with talented artists delighting audiences.
Jaz Dolorean, Elvett, Mounam and Erik Truffaz were the guests of honour at this festival, organised as part of the Parenthèses Culturelles programme.
The jazz evenings attracted large numbers of visitors looking for a chance to discover and share new music. The magic of jazz created a unique and convivial atmosphere that will live long in the memory.
A resort for champions: meeting Gaël Fickou and Cameron Woki
In January, we had the privilege of welcoming two iconic figures of the French national rugby team to the heart of Les 3 Vallées: Gaël Fickou and Cameron Woki.
As the Six Nations Tournament approached, the atmosphere heated up in the resort’s bars, where supporters gathered to cheer on their team as the matches were broadcast.
The excitement was even greater this year, as France brilliantly claimed victory in the 2025 edition of the tournament! 🏆🏉
The art of sushi in the mountains
From 8 February to 10 March, the renowned Thai-Japanese restaurant, MayaBay in Monaco, temporarily set up shop in Méribel to showcase its refined cuisine.
Through a selection of exceptional signature sushi, its talented chefs showcased the savoir-faire of Japanese gastronomy.
To mark the occasion, we had the chance to meet the sushi chef. He answered our questions with enthusiasm:
Is it a challenge to offer sushi at altitude?
Yes, because it’s a departure from Savoyard culinary traditions, where cheese and comfort food are king! But that’s exactly what makes it interesting: offering a fresher, lighter alternative. Customers are delighted with this diversity of flavours.
What is meant by exceptional sushi?
It’s all about the quality of the ingredients and respect for the produce. We select the best fish, such as the back and belly of tuna, which are very fatty and tasty. King salmon, a particularly melt-in-the-mouth salmon, is also a must. The rice also plays a key role: it must be prepared with care, respecting precise time and temperature rules. It’s this attention to detail that makes all the difference.
What’s your signature sushi?
The Mayabay Roll: a refined marriage of Gambero Rosso, asparagus and Japanese mayonnaise. At Mayabay, we work as a team, and each creation is the fruit of collaboration.
Coup de théâtre
The magic of theatre in the heart of the mountains 🎭
Supported by Méribel Tourist Office’s Events and Events Department, the Coup de Théâtre Les Parenthèses Culturelles festival gave pride of place to culture in the resort.
During the month of March, we were invited to discover several plays, performed by talented artists from La Comédie des Alpes.
And the icing on the cake ? This year, the art of improvisation was on show! EFIT’s comedians entertained us with funny and unexpected improv. Talented teams matched wit against wit in various Méribel bars and in the Auditorium.
A metro between Méribel and Val Thorens? Our April Fool's joke in pictures
On 1 April, we organised a little joke for April Fool’s Day and announced the construction of a road tunnel linking the resorts of Val Thorens and Méribel.
Obviously, it was only a joke! To journey between these two resorts, you still have to use the pistes or go around the mountain by road.
This ski season at Méribel was indubitably a success. Great snow conditions, memorable cultural and sporting events, sunny days on the slopes and unforgettable moments with family and friends.
We all had the chance to experience some magical moments and create memories that we won’t ever forget.
Thank you, passionate skiers and mountain lovers, for your energy and loyalty.
Now it’s time to say goodbye to our snowy mountains. But it’s only an ‘au revoir’, because next winter we’ll have the chance to restart our love affair with snow, create new memories and experience new adventures.
See you soon, in the heart of the 3 Valleys! 👋🏾
Are you looking forward to the pure mountain air and the spring sunshine? Do you feel like relaxing at altitude and recharging your batteries before the summer period?
Then join the two weeks of Zen Altitude in Méribel. A tailor-made programme designed by Méribel Tourisme’s Animation and Tourist Events department in collaboration with the valley’s professional groups.
See the Zen Altitude video
We met up with Floriane Bredel
Multi-skilled activity leader and in charge of organising the Zen Altitude programme
Hello Floriane, can you describe the Zen Altitude?
The Zen Altitude is one of the fortnightly themed events that we offer in the resort. It’s an event based on well-being and relaxation at altitude. The aim is to offer various activities and workshops to take care of yourself, relax and recharge your batteries in a privileged mountain setting.
The summer Zen Altitude has existed for 10 seasons while the winter edition was created in 2016. Méribel Tourisme’s wish is to allow locals, holidaymakers, seasonal workers and those living and working here to benefit from a programme of workshops focused on well-being in the resort. Please note that most of the workshops are free and that you have to book your place directly with the speakers. I invite you to ask at the tourist offices if you have any questions.
And don’t forget the date: this year, Zen Altitude takes place from 25 March to 7 April.
How did you go about organising this event?
With my colleagues of the Tourist Animation and Events Department of the Méribel Tourist Office (and especially Blandine Rety, in charge of the events project), we have been working on this new winter edition for several months. The aim is to recontact strong partners who have already participated in previous years. It is often the yoga teachers and massage professionals who respond first, as they are already in a Zen dynamic throughout the season here. At the same time, we are trying to encourage other players to take advantage of this fortnight to offer vegetarian and detox menus or reduced entry prices for their relaxation areas.
In order to have a rich and varied programme, there is a lot of contact (face to face, by email or by phone).
Once the partners have been identified and the sequence of workshops has been established, it is time to communicate. We would like the workshops to be full. To do this, we have produced flyers and posters in conjunction with our communications department, and we have drafted information sheets to be added to our website and to the Coup de Coeur. I even promote it on the radio R’Méribel. Then word of mouth always works very well on the resort. Many people, especially locals and seasonal workers, are looking forward to the Zen programme!
And this famous programme, you can tell me about it?
This year, a great programme is on the way. The workshops are all centred around taking time out and allowing yourself to reconnect with nature and your inner self. Moreover, most of them take place in enchanting settings: Lake Tueda, the Plan de Tueda Nature Reserve Centre, the Altiport forest, the Saulire mid station’s relaxation chalet, the snow front. Other activities take place in the Mottaret hall or in the auditorium.
For the most curious, here are the activities you will find from March 25th to April 7th in Méribel:
- moments shared in the open air
- yoga
- a documentary film-debate “Benevolent Farmers”,
- a raw foods workshop (“crusine”),
- massages,
- shiatsu,
- yoga for children,
- Prana’Danse,
- a conscious breathing circle,
- cuddle therapy with the animals of the ranch,
- a movement workshop based on Hebrew in connection with the Tarot de Marseille,
- dance,
- cardiac coherence,
- guided meditation and shamanic drumming,
- facial reflexology,
- Bach flowers,
- a workshop on plants,
- an herbal tea bar with a lounge area,
- a dietary workshop,
- land art and Zen garden on snow.
I imagine that Zen Altitude also means a strong mobilisation of local professionals and your partners…
Yes, it is. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the partners and the socio-professionals who are involved in this event. Our collaborations are precious. So a big thank you to the Folie Douce for their dance initiation, to the Restaurant La Terrasse for its relaxation menu, to the restaurant le Clos Bernard for its well-being menu, to the Hotel Spa de l’AlpenRuitor for its special offers and to the Abreuvoir for its detox cocktail.
Moreover, this year Bonneval is a partner of the Zen Altitude. For example, you will find water tasting areas in the tourist offices.
Finally, what are your three favourite activities of the fortnight?
Firstly, the “crusine” workshop, as it allows people to learn to cook and to consider their nutrition in a different and original way. The aim is to cook raw products and to share a meal together.
Then, I would choose the cuddle therapy with the animals of the Ranch. This is both entertaining and very enjoyable. The objective is to be in contact with the animals, to share a sweet moment with them.
Finally, don’t miss the most original workshop of the Hebrew alphabet dance in connection with Tarot de Marseille. It combines dance movements inspired by the Hebrew alphabet with the ancient tradition of the Tarot de Marseille. A must try!
I admit that the selection is difficult because this year we have some very interesting activities.
So, I am waiting for you from March 25th to April 7th!

In the form of conferences and workshops, business leaders are invited to question themselves about the company of the future and to draw inspiration from well-known figures from rich and varied professional backgrounds.
To be more in keeping with its name, this year the organisers have decided to go yet higher and set up camp in the heart of the 3 Vallées, in Méribel.
3 reasons to attend Les Sommets
-
1
Think about the company of tomorrow
The world is constantly evolving: today’s companies are in the throes of change. They are undergoing profound transformation: remote working, management style, and the changing expectations of consumers, supplier and employees. -
2
A retreat in the heart of nature
Les Sommets is coming to Méribel because the mountains allow you to take a step back, and because nature is a source of inspiration and the ideal setting to retreat from your routine life. -
3
Build trust with your colleagues
With the speakers already announced, the 2023 event promises great discussions and get-togethers at which to consider business transformation.
3 days to be inspired and take a breather
Les Sommets, formerly known as Les Sommets du digital, is a professional event in which participants attend conferences and devote themselves to the company of the future in the form of workshops, exchanges and interventions. The mission of Les Sommets is to support and encourage company leaders in their most ambitious reflections. The organisers are keen to inspire, challenge and connect the participants.
Key speakers of previous events included the five-time Olympic biathlon champion Martin Fourcade, the philosopher Raphaël Enthoven, the composer André Manoukian, the former Chief Marketing and Communication Officer at Intermarché Anne-Marie Gaultier and the Country Manager of LinkedIn Fabienne Arata.
Supporting business leaders in their thinking about the future
In a world where everything is changing rapidly, how should we rethink a company’s priorities, mission and philosophy? How can we adapt to new ways of working (such as remote working and hybrid employment) and how can we predict them? How can we continue to produce in the current economic and ecological context? And what do these changes mean for the notion of leadership?
How must companies and their staff transform themselves so they continue to exist in the coming years? To which values should they adhere, which contradictions will they encounter, and how will they manage to overcome them?
Take a step back and enjoy a social and entertaining retreat
Come to Méribel for its fabulous setting

Moreover, what could be better than getting close to the summits for a meeting that gives you a new perspective? Méribel is the ideal location for seminars where you can take a step back and fill your lungs with pure mountain air while reflecting on the changes in corporate life.
