Our 5 tips to make sure you make the most of every single minute during your stay

December 30, 2022

The ski suits and suitcases are ready: it's time to head for the mountains.

Ski holidays are often synonymous with relaxation and discovery. It’s a time to get together with friends and family in a snowy atmosphere.

After spending the day on the slopes, what could be better than to recharge your batteries in a wellness area and end the evening with a raclette?

Discover our top tips so that you can make the most of your stay in Méribel.

Tip 1: keep up to the minute on the state of the ski area

Which slopes are open? What is the weather forecast for the ski area? Where can I find the map of the 3 Vallées? How do I get to Les Menuires or Val Thorens from Méribel? These are all questions that skiers and riders ask themselves before hitting the slopes.

To find live information from the 3 Vallées ski area, we invite you to download the 3 Vallées app.

Available on iOS and Android, it allows you to :

  • Discover all 600 kilometres of pistes

You have access to a lot of information in real time : grooming of the slopes, the weather and the 3 Vallées links
  • Geolocate your tribe

If you decide to go skiing in the morning on your own in the Méribel area, you can meet your friends or family in a restaurant at lunchtime.

Tip 2: avoid queues

Are you planning to ski during your holiday in the mountains? In order to make your stay really enjoyable, we advise you to book your ski passes online.

Indeed, it can happen that there are a few minutes of waiting at the physical points of sale on the days of arrival or of great affluence. To avoid waiting and to be quickly on the ski lifts to ski down the slopes, online booking is a good solution.

Which ski passes can I book online?

Coming to Méribel for a stay allows you to take advantage of the Méribel ski area and the 3 Valleys ski area. Thanks to the connections, skiers can leave Méribel to join the slopes of the other 3 Vallées resorts such as Courchevel, Val-Thorens, Orelle and Les Menuires. On line, you can book a 3 Vallées ski pass, a Vallée de Méribel ski pass, a 3 Vallées pedestrian pass and a mini pass.

How to get your ski passes?

  • You already have a rechargeable badge: use the number on the back of your badge and recharge it with the pass you want.
  • You don’t have a rechargeable badge: order the ski pass online and depending on how far in advance you are, you can have it delivered to your home. If you book the passes at the last minute, you can collect them from a collection point in the resort before going skiing or from a physical sales point.

Tip 3: Travel in peace

Do you want to relax during your stay without worrying about all the preparations?

Then opt for a concierge service in Méribel. A dedicated team will accompany you from the beginning to the end of your trip in the resort. No more wasting time planning your day, buying groceries and cleaning your accommodation.

The concierge will prepare your accommodation so that you can collect the keys at the time you want. Small gifts can also be left to celebrate special occasions such as a wedding anniversary or Valentine’s Day.

And for those who wish to come to Meribel from the nearest airport, transfer is also offered by some concierge services. So you can travel to the mountains with complete peace of mind.

To sum up: with a concierge service, having fun is the key word.

Tip 4: Gain confidence with lessons

Taking ski lessons is a good way to get the hang of it and have fun on the slopes. Supervised by an instructor, the apprentice skier benefits from his or her recommendations for progress.

Moreover, the courses are not only for beginners. If you are an intermediate skier and you like to ski the blue slopes and you feel like trying out the red slopes, why not take an hour’s lesson?

However, to ensure you get a place on a lesson offered by one of the Méribel ski schools, we advise you to book in advance. On line or by phone, booking in advance allows you to enjoy your days in the resort 100%.

You will avoid the stress of finding an instructor at the last minute.

Tip 5: get the best right addresses
