The “Kollektiv” Youth Symphony Orchestra, based in Ulm, brings together young musicians aged 16 to 30 around a challenging and dynamic collective artistic project. Conducted by Sebastian Gunkel, the ensemble embodies a modern vision of the orchestra in which each musician actively contributes to its development.
The name “Kollektiv” reflects this shared commitment and the energy among the members, who enthusiastically contribute to the ensemble’s artistic life. The orchestra’s motto—“Give it a try! You might be pleasantly surprised!”—invites the audience to explore and embrace new musical experiences.
Comprising 35 musicians for this performance, the ensemble presents a rich and varied program featuring great composers from the classical repertoire such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Richard Strauss, Pietro Mascagni, and Pierre Wissmer.
This concert offers an intense moment of musical sharing, driven by the freshness, precision, and dedication of talented young performers, in a meeting between symphonic tradition and the new generation.
