Top walks to enjoy the most stunning views in the Savoie
The sun is back. With summer in full swing, weekends take on a whole new dimension: the days get longer, and the urge to take your bike out grows stronger and stronger. Even better, it's finally time for you to go on holiday!
To satisfy all your cycling adventure cravings, Méribel invites you to enjoy a unique experience on its mountain ridges. After checking over your bike, head to La Chaudanne for the lift up to the peaks, thanks to the Tougnète gondola and chairlift.
Once at the summit, there’s nothing but silence… and one irresistible urge: to release the brakes!
The adventure begins with the DH3, also known as the “Blue Line.” You start with 2 to 3 kilometres of smooth, well-designed trails, perfect for finding your rhythm. After this warm-up, things get more serious with a short climb that takes you all the way to the summit of Roc de Fer.
To reward yourself for this first ascent, take a well-deserved break and soak up the breathtaking views. A relaxing area with hammocks, wooden tables, and a photo spot has been set up so you can fully enjoy the 360° panorama of the Méribel and Belleville valleys. In front of you: Pointe de la Masse, Cime Caron, Aiguille du Borgne, and Mont Vallon.
The Enduro des Crêtes offers a playful terrain, with natural lines and some technical sections. As you follow the trail, a true sense of escape washes over you. The path leads you to the Hameau de La Traie, accessible only on foot or by bike — a true timeless mountain retreat.
Two options are available for a local-flavoured break.
The Refuge du Christ
The refuge is authentic and welcoming. Here, your break will take place in a simple, natural setting. Generous plates filled with Savoyard delicacies await you.
The Refuge de la Traye
Discover a different, more luxurious side to the mountain experience. Combining elegance and comfort, it boasts a panoramic terrace and a refined, gourmet menu.
From La Traie, follow the trail down to Les Allues, where you’ll discover a gem of traditional mountain architecture. Along the way, the Plan de la Croix offers one last panoramic viewpoint before you dive into forests and winding trails.
If you’re riding an electric mountain bike, you can easily make your way back up to Méribel Centre. For others, don’t worry — a free shuttle is available to complete the loop.
