Family ski resort

Thanks to our position at the heart of the largest ski area in the world, we enjoy the ideal situation where you can learn to ski, improve your skills and enjoy carefree fun with your family. The enormous variety of runs in les 3 Vallées will meet your every need and offers you the ideal playground where you can learn to ski and improve as a family. Our perfectly designed and beautifully maintained slopes form the ideal stage for your family holiday.

Thanks to our 600km of ski runs which are seamlessly linked by lift, children and their parents can happily spend days doing exactly as they wish. While your children are learning to ski with an instructor, you could enjoy perfect freedom exploring the limitless slopes of les 3 Vallées. Afterwards, spend quality time with your ‘tribe’ on the fun slopes or let them experiment in our safe snowparks.

In addition to meticulously prepared slopes, a family ski resort must offer a whole range of facilities in its ski area. In our family-friendly ski area you will find picnic areas on the slopes, special areas for sledging, family ski passes and much more.

Learning to ski

By far the best way to learn to ski is to turn to the professionals who have the necessary teaching skills and who will share their favorite areas with you. Whatever the age of your children, there is a place to help them discover skiing:

  • Les Saturnins day nursery welcomes children from 18 months to 3 years;
  • For children aged 3 to 5 years, kindergartens introduce them to the basics of skiing, supervised by instructors;
  • Finally, our ski schools look after children, teenagers or adults who want to learn to ski or improve their skills.

Ski slopes for beginners

Did you know that in les 3 Vallées, 50% of the slopes are graded blue or green for learners or improvers? This means you can enjoy our beginners’ ski slopes without ever getting bored. As a family ski resort, Méribel allows the whole family to share the joys of the mountains. From beginner to expert level, les 3 Vallées’ ski slopes are accessible to all, from the green runs through the forests and the wide blue runs to the fun pistes on the sunny slopes…

With our MINI PASS, you can let your children safely make their first ski turns in the beginners’ areas on wide, gently sloping pistes, well away from faster skiers.

Fun on the ski slopes for children

If you’re learning to ski with your family, come and enjoy the peace and quiet of Méribel’s sunny Altiport area. In the Family Cool area, you can ski amongst igloos and animals of the Polar regions, along easy blue and green runs.

The Family Cool area is a wonderful playground which offers a host of activities for a fun, family skiing experience:

  • the Piste des Inuits takes you into the world of the Far North;
  • the Piste des Animaux introduces you to the animals of the forest.

Improve on family-friendly ski runs

As soon as you have mastered the basics of skiing, you will naturally want to progress and improve. To do this, come and:

  • improve your technique in the snowparks, such as the Open Park or the Elements Park. You will make progress and discover new skiing sensations as you whizz over the whoops and around the banked turns;
  • enjoy the high parts of the ski area with their exceptional views, alternating between blue and red runs to add variety to your skiing enjoyment. Skiers ready to venture out on their own can take full advantage of the vast 3 Vallées ski area and learn to feel at ease on skis, without ever having to take the same run twice.

Family ski passes

  • The family pass: Everyone skis at the child rate

    If you are skiing in Méribel with your family for a week or longer, take advantage of our FAMILY PASS. For families of 2 adults and at least 2 children under 18 years, everyone skis at the child rate (about 20% off the adult rates).

  • The mini pass: The ideal pass for beginners

    If you want to learn to ski or snowboard on the easy green runs, or if you want to accompany your child, opt for the MINI PASS.

  • Free ski passes for children under 5 years

    There’s no need to pay anything at all for the little ones! If your children are under 5 years old, their ski pass is free!

    Sledging

    As we all know, tobogganing is both easy and great fun. On a sled, your age is irrelevant: all that counts is enjoying laughs with your family – and winning your sled races!

    – Discover the Mission Black Forest toboggan run and lose yourself in the magical world of the Arbin forest. This 3.4km themed descent is full of surprising creatures and will thrill young and old alike.

    Something a little different

    Nowadays, there are lots of ways of enjoying the snow apart from skiing. Whether it’s dog sledding or ski joering (being pulled on skis by a horse), you can discover new thrills with your family and enjoy spending time in beautiful natural surroundings. This winter, give your children an experience they will never forget!
