The best hikes to explore the fauna and flora of the mountains
The ultimate chalet resort, Méribel proudly showcases traditional Savoyard architecture.
Created in 2005 for the Vallée des Allues, the Méribel Label is awarded to all types of accommodation, from studios to large chalets, whose atmosphere, quality and Alpine aesthetics reinforce the chalet identity of the valley.
“The heart of the 3 Vallées is the ultimate chalet resort. The Méribel Label highlights accommodation that respects this warm and traditional mountain style. This means that the accommodation reflects the resort’s internationally recognised charm and quality.”

In 1938, an innovative charter governed the construction of the first chalets for tourist use. It required gabled roofs, west-facing gables and the use of slate, stone and wood, ensuring the harmony that still characterises the resort today. This approach, which was pioneering at the time, aimed to ensure balanced, harmonious development that respected the natural environment.
Faced with proposals for large-scale construction by developers in the 1970s, Méribel successfully asserted its identity. New residences were integrated in accordance with the architectural codes of the valley.
The inhabitants of Méribel have successfully developed the resort’s architecture, combining mountain tradition and contemporary design while preserving its historical heritage.
Today, architectural uniformity and Savoyard charm embody the essence of Méribel, making it one of the most beautiful mountain resorts in the world.
Accommodation certified with the Medibel label is easily recognisable by a wooden plaque (see images below).
Discover the quality of the Méribel Label:
⭐ An authentic alpine atmosphere: The omnipresence of wood and stone creates a warm atmosphere, offering accommodation with a gentle way of life and unrivalled comfort.
⭐ A choice of premium materials: Wood, with its comforting qualities, adorns the floors, panelling, walls and ceilings. Stone highlights the original vaulted ceiling, while the plasterwork is the work of a craftsman proud to showcase his expertise.
⭐ Architecture blending tradition and modernity: The combination of styles opens up a wide range of possibilities. Traditional materials such as wood and stone blend seamlessly with contemporary touches of steel, leather, glass and aluminium.
⭐ The art of comfort and atmosphere: Particular attention is paid to the selection of textiles and lighting. Fabrics create a warm and cosy atmosphere, while soft, pleasant lighting enhances each room.
⭐ Consistent quality: Every space and piece of furniture is meticulously crafted with high-quality finishes that ensure perfect serenity in the home. Everything is designed to offer optimal comfort to guests.
⭐ Exceptional facilities: High-quality furniture contributes to the mountain atmosphere, blending modernity and authenticity. Modern kitchens become true works of art, and sometimes wellness areas with swimming pools or spas complete the experience.
