What links Johnny Hallyday with Brigitte Bardot ?
Skiing ! By the 1960s, Méribel was already home to celebrities, most notably Brigitte Bardot, France’s celebrated actress, and rock icon Johnny Hallyday. Both loved skiing in Méribel which was already known as a snow-sure destination.
Méribel is part of the 3 Vallées* family, the world’s largest ski area with 600km of marked and interconnected pistes (*Méribel, Courchevel, La Tania, Brides-les-Bains, Les Menuires, Saint Martin de Belleville, Val Thorens and Orelle). Situated between 1,300 m and 3,230 m altitude, the pistes enjoy conditions favourable to good snow and 85% of the ski area lies above 1,800m !
Care and attention is lavished on creating quality cultured snow. 2,535 snow cannons cover 53% of the ski area to ensure maximum security.
Bonus point : les 3 Vallées have created a ski guarantee which undertakes to reimburse any non-used days during the validity of your ski pass. Find out more here
Every link between valleys lies above 2,000m altitude ! This gives an even greater scope to your ski holiday. Add to that 15 peaks above 2,500m and 6 glaciers with spectacular panoramic views. And all this offers you a unique total vertical descent of 62,000m… in short, it’s a taste of snowy heaven !
To have fun on skis, or learn to ski, the pistes must be perfect. Our pistes – green, blue, red or black – are prepared each day with love, entrusted to 160 experts who skilfully operate 77 piste groomers. Every night, they work their magic on the ski area.
