Festival Jazz Variations: Elliavir in quintet

This year, Méribel presents a brand new program for the Jazz Festival.

The aim of the Festival is to give you the chance to discover or re-discover jazz in its different forms, with concerts adapted to a seated audience.

At the crossroads between vocal and instrumental jazz, brilliantly linking Nordic music and modern pop, Ellliavir invites us to let ourselves be transported by the landscapes of its sonic travel diary. Lou Rivaille’s voice and Rémi Flambard’s trumpet intertwine and twirl, weaving spellbinding melodies enriched and carried by the complicit trio of Christophe Waldner on piano, Cyril Billot on double bass and Maxime Mary on drums. Like the five vital organs of a freely evolving entity, ElliAViR’s artists offer pulsations and breaths to a music accessible to all ears and wide-open souls.

All the audience has to do is abandon itself in the arms of this new hybrid being, which brilliantly combines illusion, fascination and dreaminess.
