Every week, Pierre Brochant, a bourgeois and ill-intentioned Parisian publisher, organizes a dinner party with his friends, where everyone is asked to bring a "con" - a person with a quirky or singular profile who will be the object of mockery. Convinced he's found a rare gem in François Pignon, a civil servant with a passion for building matchbox models, Brochant's evening turns into a comic nightmare when Pignon, like a good jinx bearer, makes one clumsy mistake after another.

The play plays on cult lines, misunderstandings and finely-written comedy that blends hilarity with observation of human foibles. This adaptation offers a convivial evening of laughter while paying tribute to one of the monuments of French comic theater.
