Zen Altitude: Brazil: dance, sing and taste

A musical and dancing journey! The workshop begins with warm-ups and body awareness, followed by Brazilian dances, stretching and final relaxation. Various dances will be taught:

ciranda, maracatu, maculêle, samba, coco, frevo, forro, funk and other surprises… Together, we’ll explore Brazilian poems & songs in all simplicity & finish in style with a salty-sweet Brazilian snack.

Cler Fiorelli, a Brazilian of Italian-Spanish descent, has been passionate about the body, art and movement from an early age. Graduated in body therapies, nutrition and dance from several schools in France, India and Brazil, she loves to generously share her acquired knowledge.

Brazilian dance is as culturally rich as the country itself. A blend of Amerindian, African and Portuguese influences emanates from these folkloric and popular rhythms and dances. Brazil’s social and cultural life is driven by live music and dance.

It is still danced mainly in the north-east of the country during the festivities. Samba is the Brazilian dance par excellence! Thanks to Carnival, it’s one of the best-known dances in the world. Rio de Janeiro’s carnival is the most prestigious and internationally renowned.
