Museum

The Museum, which can be found within an old house in the village of Allues, aims to promote the history and traditions of the valley of Méribel. This museum boasts four rooms, each themed acoording to traditions of the valley.

The museum themes are:

  • Instruments and tools used on a daily basis,
  • Agricultural materials,
  • Archives,
  • The initiation of skiing within the valley.

Albeit small, the museum has beautiful pieces, such as photos of the initiation of skiing as well as period equipment (skis, boots, etc.). It also has rare pieces within the archives, such as ancient property registers dating back to the 17th Century. Traditional clothing (primarily ski items) are also presented on mannequins.

Entry to the Museum of Allues is free of charge. It is open during summer, and out of season, upon request.
