Fêtes musicales de Savoie: Etesiane string chamber orchestra from Brussels
Discover the prestigious Brussels Chamber Orchestra, led by young conductor Gabriel Hollander.
The prestigious Brussels-based ensemble, under the direction of its founder and permanent conductor Gabriel Hollander, will perform an interesting Concerto for double bass and strings by Bottesini, surrounded by works by Mendelssohn, Gershwin and Tchaikovsky.
The concert will take place in the Eglise Saint Martin des Allues, a central location in the Méribel valley, built at the end of the 17th century by a Piedmontese architect, whose acoustics and resonance will offer listeners an unforgettable experience.
Etesiane, after a magnificent tour of Savoie last year, returns to the Fêtes musicales in a string orchestra formation. Conductor Gabriel Hollander has chosen a concerto theme that will showcase each instrument in turn. The concert in Les Allues will feature the solo cello in Max Bruch’s sublime Kol Nidrei, followed by Mendelssohn’s 12th Symphony, Sibelius’ Impromptu and Britten’s Simple Symphony.
