The Plan de Tuéda nature reserve

The comfort promenade at lac de Tuéda

Two accessible parking spaces allow you to park right by the lake, without having to walk the hundred-metre uphill stretch from the main car park. These spaces can be reached by car via the path leading to the lake, just after the short uphill section following the car park.

The Plan de Tuéda National Nature Reserve then opens up before you – protected since 1990 – and the 1.8 km walk around the lake, which is fully accessible, takes you beneath the Swiss stone pines that make up one of the most beautiful Swiss stone pine forests in the Alps.

Information centre at the Tuéda Nature Reserve

Near the lake, you’ll find the “Maison de la Réserve“, an information centre which houses a free, permanent exhibition on the reserve’s flora and fauna. In both summer and winter, educational activities are organised, including a birdwatching tour led by a guide passionate about birds.

Fishing

Fishing on Lake Tuéda is available from spring onwards, using either fly fishing or float fishing, and no licence is required. You can bring your own equipment or hire it directly on site. Access is designed to be inclusive for everyone, including people with reduced mobility, who can enjoy the lake’s shores on the same terms as other anglers. Brown trout, rainbow trout and a few carp or minnows inhabit these enclosed waters, where fish stocks are guaranteed to remain plentiful throughout the season.

  • Modern wooden chalet by Lac de Tuéda (Maison de la Réserve), surrounded by trails and fir forest.
  • Restaurant terrace by a mountain lake, guests seated at tables facing the fir trees.
